Why the under-eye is its own art
The tear trough is a groove where the thin lower-lid skin meets the cheek. Fill it carelessly and you trade a shadow for a puffy, bluish ridge that looks worse than where you started — a common reason patients come to us to dissolve someone else's work.
The eyelid is unforgiving territory. Treating it well means understanding the anatomy beneath, choosing the right product, and using very little of it. That's exactly where an oculofacial specialist belongs.
You may be a good candidate if…
- A dark hollow or shadow sits beneath the eye despite rest
- You look tired in photos even when you feel fine
- The under-eye looks deflated rather than puffy
- You want a subtle refresh, not a dramatic change
The technique, in plain terms
After topical numbing, a small amount of hyaluronic-acid filler is placed deep against the bone with a blunt cannula — gentler on vessels than a needle. For the right candidate, micro-fat grafting offers a longer-lasting alternative using your own tissue. Either way, the rule is the same: under-correct, review, refine.
Aftercare
What to
expect.
A true lunch-hour treatment for most. Filler is reversible, which is part of why it's so safe in expert hands.
Possible mild redness or pinpoint bruising. Most return to work the same day.
Any minor swelling eases. Sleep elevated and skip strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours.
We see you to assess and, if useful, add a touch more. Refinement beats overfilling.
Hyaluronic-acid filler can be dissolved in minutes — a safety net other areas don't have.
